Filipinos remained vigilant amidst Super Typhoon Yolanda. They shared relevant information and pictures over social networks to keep the public informed. Major news organizations from around the world also covered the typhoon’s impact.
Yolanda (international name Haiyan) is one of the strongest typhoons to ever hit the country. It is roughly two times the size of hurricane Katrina that devastated United States in 2005.
Initial estimates of damages to properties amount to 15 Million Pesos while Philippine Red Cross said the death toll could reach 1,200.
